William Ropp, 1960, is a french photographer with a unique style. He is also known as 'the shadow sculptor'. He places his subjects in complete darkness and takes photographs by using long exposures. With a flashlight he starts "painting". His subjects are often children. The pictures get a mysterious and sometimes haunting feel to them. The following pictures come from the series: Casamance 2009, Dreamt memories from Africa and Children.

Branislav Kropilak, 1982, is a photographer from Slovakia. His photographs are very graphic. They often contain straight lines and a very orderly manner. The next photographs come from the series Garages, Landings and Billboards.

Photographer #008: Thomas Kneub�hler

Swiss born photographer Thomas Kneub�hler, 1963, now living in Montreal, Canada, was fascinated by the mountains full of light that made night skiing possible. He made the surreal landscapes his subject matter. Night photography of mountains that radiate. He calls this series Electric Mountains.

Earlier he worked on a project called Office 2000. Again a landscape arises of surrealism, although it is very real. The pictures become abstract objects of repetition.

Photographer #001: Todd Hido

Todd Hido, 1968, is an American photographer. He is well known for his night photography of houses. Although they have a spooky and lonely feel to them, there is a sense of looking into the lifes of someone. The photographs have a link with Gregory Crewdson's photography, but then without the props, actors and insanely expensive lighting.
