Photographer #088: Peter Beste

Peter Beste, USA, 1978, spent seven years photographing an insulated and secretive community. He documented the world of Norwegian Black Metal. His photographs have been combined into the book True Norwegian Black Metal. For many years Beste also worked on a project in Houston, where he documented the outskirts of this city and the people living there, a community of "fiercely independent and often misrepresented individuals." The following images come from the series: Black Metal, Houston I and After Hours.

Photographer #084: Zed Nelson

British photographer Zed Nelson, 1968, released his second book called Love Me in 2009. He travelled to 17 countries during a five year period to document the phenomenal global obsession with youth and beauty. In 2001 his seminal book Gun Nation was released. This time he focused on America's deadly love affair with the gun. Zed has a vast archive of stories he has worked on, such as the Ku Klux Klan, Hillbilly Heroin, the French Foreign Legion and more. Photographer #054: Dave Anderson

Dave Anderson, USA, 1970, is a photographer that sees beauty in the less pretty sides of life. Poverty, disaster and racism. His believe that there is something beautiful in everyone made him go to Vidor, Texas many times. Vidor is known as a stronghold of the Klu Klux Klan. He photographed the people in this town and his book Rough Beauty was released in 2006. Make sure to watch this video about Rough Beauty by pressing here.


This year his book One Block is coming out. A non linear story on the rebuilding after the Katrina disaster in New Orleans.

Vladimir Milivojevich, better known as Boogie, 1969, is a Serbian photographer living in New York. Boogie documents people that live in harsh conditions ranging from drug addicts, skinheads and gangmembers. He has published 5 books until today. His latest release is on his hometown Belgrade.
